Trenton’s mayor is pleading for the state’s help. Asking the Murphy administration to intervene and provide funding for the city’s animal shelter. The request comes days after the city council voted to cut ties with a local nonprofit running the facility, leaving the shelter without staff or a veterinarian – and just a handful of city workers caring for the hundreds of animals.
