This is all hand-smocked, and you can see the size of the waist.
GUEST: Oh, that’s why I need to get my husband-- APPRAISER: I mean, it's so small.
GUEST: Yeah.
APPRAISER: So small, sometimes-- this is called a Petersham, and this would go around the waist and then clasp like a man's vest.
The sleeves also give it away for the time period.
In the late-1890s, they would do really big sleeves.
You've got these beautiful appliques on the chiffon.
This, this was a very expensive dress when she got married.
And a long train, so, it was a wonderful wedding gown.
In this condition, I would say that someone might want to spend about $500 and then try to restore it, get antique silk and re-line the skirt.
