Grant Tree Veterans Day

Special | 12m 27s

Each Veterans Day a special ceremony takes place at the General Grant Tree in Kings Canyon National Park. It happens at 11AM. In 1956, President Eisenhower named the Grant Tree as the nation’s only live shrine to soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in American wars. In 2012 veterans from American Legion Post 621 and a park ranger got together to revive the ceremony.
